Looks like some people want to try to resurrect the larger scale 50th anniversary of SBHS for next summer, which will also be our 35th. I will be attending a meeting this month and will keep you posted on this board of what is decided. Let me know what you'd like to see US do, as we try to fit in something for just our class amongst all of the plans.

In lieu of a three day all inclusive at some Jamaican resort, Debbie and I would just enjoy something at the high school. It would be great if our teachers could make cameo appearances as well. A chance just to chat with classmates in an informal setting.
Regardless of what is decided, we hope to make the reunion.
Thanks,
Chuck

Chuck, I'm with you! I kinda gave them that impression in my first e-mail to them. I will pass that along again, as well as putting someone on getting in touch with our teachers from the early 70's. I'll probably be the youngest one on the panel. I like the sound of that! Save early July for your trip to Jersey! It wouldn't be a successful reunion without you and Debbie there.

There's talk from the class of 72 that they might like to "hang" with us if there's a reunion. Whattaya think? Should we combine with them or go solo? We could always put them on the other side of the room....... ;D

I'm for something just for our class, in addition... I regret not making the 30th and would very much like to attend the 35th.

I went to an initial meeting of the new SBHS Alumni Association, and it looks like July 3rd through the weekend is when the event will be slated. SB has fireworks on the night before the 4th, so that will kick things off. Entertainment for the day's festivities will include vendors selling food and such in the parking lot, alumni bands........how about it Bob, Bruce, Billy and whoever?..........and a car show. There may be more stuff, but this was our initial thinking. The class of 73 will have a hospitality area for all of "us" to hang. As far as what we will be doing as a class, it will probably be alot more simple than the last time. Just some inexpensive ways for us to be together. Please pencil in the date. I'll keep you all posted right here! Janet

Janet, it's hard to imagine that anyone will ever top what "you, et al" put together for our past reunions. Simply beautiful event planning and execution - right down to the weather. So the idea of "doing someone else's thing" will never be so sweet as "the original". Given all that you put into past events how can I or anyone else ask or expect you et al - the few who made it all work for the many - to do more? My vote is for "you et al" to take a well earned break from event planning and organizing duties and we'll just tag along with another class for our 35th reunion . . unless you just have a crazy desire to do it all over again. If some other SBHS class wants to handle all the details - and we all just show up - that's acceptable. The Class of '73 can gravitate towards one another and we can secretely conspire to do a few things on our own, such as meet up at a certain hotel, go bowling at a certain bowling emporium, etc. You da boss, JTW. Let me know what I might do to help and I'll do it. Need me to lick stamps? Done. Take out the trash? Done. Whatever you need Janet, oh Fearless Leader of Fabulous Class Reunions. ;D

Jeff, You are always so kind and complimentary. How nice to be appreciated lo these "almost 5 years later". Talk about the "grand" reunion has quieted down...maybe cuz of the holidays. I'll make sure that we're represented so that any of our guys from 73 that show up will have a warm and welcome place to hang. Some of it can be done on the fly as we sit and discuss under the skies of SB's fireworks. The idea of a possible "pick up game" in the sport of your choice and then an informal-hang-out-together dinner somewhere sounds good to me. Rest assured that I'll rev up big for 40! We'll all have alot more money.........some of us pensions ;D to do something spectacular!!! Licking stamps God forbid! I'm going totally hi-tech next time. I'm going to save a forest and not use any paper for correspondance. So if anyone knows of classmates that don't surf, you better find them a board, so to speak.

Too bad about the reunion planned for July 4 weekend. Tough for out-of-towners because July 4 is such a "family" holiday. Wish it could have been planned for the weekend of the church carnival, since that would have been a fun venue to meet up at. Hope you guys have a blast!

Just visited this msg board for the first time....wonderful idea! As for reunion plans, just let me know where and when...I'm there. Anything I can help with, don't hesitate to let me know.
On a more somber note, it is with deep regret that I report the loss of yet another '73 Alumni. Cornelius "Connie" Curtain lost his battle with cancer on Jan 15, 2008. He leaves his wife Debbie and two sons, ages 12 and 17. Connie has been residing in Saddle Brook and with his business (C&D Transmissions) being in Garfield, I got to see him every once in a while. His warm smile and friendly, caring nature will be greatly missed.

It is with sadness that I inform of another of your classmates who passed away on Jan 23rd. John C. Levi who resided in Las Vegas NV for the past 30 years. He leaves behind a wonderful Son Mike and Daughter Kristy-Lynn. Wife Susan.

It's been a rough month for the class of 73, 1st losing Connie and now John. Our thoughts are with both their families. Thank goodness for the internet that has helped us stay in touch throughout the years even if we can't make it to reunions.

The latest on the 50th Anniversary is that I haven't heard boo. Doesn't seem like it's coming together. For the class of 73, we'll have to look forward to 40. With as fast as the last 5 years have gone, I'll be planning it before you know it. I'm always looking for great ideas, so post some up here for me. Cruise......giant barbecue.......DisneyWorld.......whattaya think?
